What kind of assistance is available?
You can call for consultation on a range of
legal matters including:
- Family (adoption, guardianship, divorce, custody,
visitation)
- Housing and Real Estate (home purchase,
landlord/tenant disputes, foreclosure)
- Consumer (bankruptcy, contracts, small claims)
- Estate (wills, probate)
- Auto-Related (accidents, violations)
- Administrative (Social Security, Internal Revenue
Service, Veterans Administration, Immigration)
How does it work?
This benefit provides one telephone consultation or
in-person 30-minute consultation with a Legal Services
attorney per legal matter. There is no limit on the
number of different legal issues you may have. Should
you retain a legal professional through the EAP beyond
this benefit; services will be offered at a 25% discount
off the attorney’s customary fees. You are responsible
for the cost of all services beyond this benefit. Are there any legal matters that are not
covered under this benefit?
Consultation is not available for matters pertaining to
patents, employment and work related concerns, state tax
questions, second
legal opinions, and for third party questions.
